Grounded was recorded in Schöneiche, Berlin on June 1 & 2 2021 by Christoph Rose in his Bauwagen that he had recently renovated into a recording studio. The songs are a jumbled collection of old and new, but are linked by the folk and country sound and feel. 3/4 Time was inspired by the lives of Guy & Susanne Clark with parallels of my own, and my parents lives tied in. That’s the Way It Goes was inspired by the Townes Van Zandt song Pancho & Lefty. Basically, it’s the Pancho & Lefty story from a slightly different angle. I sometimes call it Lefty & Pancho because that’s what it is. River 2 Die Blues Part II is one of a series of songs about a broken man. I hope someday, to record them all together, and present them as something of a concept album with the complete story of his hard life. I often refer to Wife as an unconventional love song, or, more accurately a song about unconventional love. We are pleased and honoured that you have bought, borrowed, found, or stolen this album, and we hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.
